About Nzuri Noire
Nzuri means beautiful, in Swahili. Noire means black. Nzuri Noire is a media platform created to serve, inspire, affirm and delight Black women through thoughtfully curated content.
Launched in 2021 by founder Jessica R. Simmons, Nzuri Noire was intended to be a safe haven for Black women. Nzuri Noire was also intended to be a space that focuses on and caters to Black women’s needs. “Our issues and needs are so unique they can”t be addressed from a one size fits all approach,” says Simmons. “I didn’t see enough platforms that were seriously addressing our needs so I created one. We’re so much more than just hair and celebrity news. We’re wives, mothers, investors, business owners, philanthropists, etc. We love art, good food and good books. We deserve content that reflects the depth of our community. Rather than complain about what I didn’t see and wish existed, I created it.”
If you’re looking for celebrities, politics or the latest gossip, you’ve come to the wrong place, but if you’re looking to be affirmed, inspired and laugh while you’re doing it, we got you.
