About Nzuri Noire
Nzuri means beautiful, in Swahili. Noire means black. Nzuri Noire is a media platform created to serve, inspire, affirm and delight Black women through thoughtfully curated content. Launched in 2021 by founder Jessica R. Simmons, Nzuri Noire was intended to be a safe haven for Black women. Nzuri Noire was also intended to be a space that focuses on and caters to Black women’s needs. “Our issues and needs are so unique they can”t be addressed from a one size fits all approach,” says Simmons. “I didn’t see enough platforms that were seriously addressing our needs so I created one. We’re so much more than just hair and celebrity news.
